What is architectural film?

Architectural film is a professional interior surfacing material: a printed or solid-color vinyl with an embossed texture, a protective top layer and a pressure-sensitive adhesive. It is the same category of product as well-known lines such as 3M™ DI-NOC™, and it is very different from the thin decorative contact paper sold for DIY projects.

  • Realistic textures you can feel, not just see
  • Air-release adhesive for a smooth, bubble-free finish
  • Conforms around edges and profiles when heated
  • Designed for interior surfaces that get daily use

How to choose a kitchen wrap finish

Start with what is staying. Floors, backsplash tile and countertops you are not changing set the palette. Warm floors pair well with greens, creams and walnut. Cool grey floors suit navy, charcoal and white oak.

Think about light. Mattes hide fingerprints and look modern, but very dark mattes can feel heavy in small kitchens. Satin and gloss bounce light around galley kitchens.

Go two-tone. A wood-grain or deep-color island with lighter perimeter cabinets is one of the most popular looks in America, and easy to achieve with wrap. See island wrapping.

Match the appliances. Wrap a mismatched fridge or dishwasher to tie everything together. See appliance wrapping.
