What is cabinet wrapping?

Cabinet wrapping (also called cabinet vinyl wrap) is the process of bonding a thin, durable architectural film to your existing cabinet doors, drawer fronts, end panels and frames. The film is engineered for interiors: it is pressure-activated, repositionable during install, and designed to resist everyday kitchen wear.

Because we keep your existing cabinet boxes, there is no tear-out, no dumpster and no weeks without a kitchen. It is the fastest way to get a new-kitchen look.

Why homeowners choose a cabinet vinyl wrap

  • Fraction of the cost of new cabinets or full refacing.
  • Fast: most kitchens are wrapped in 1 to 3 days.
  • Clean: no sanding clouds, no paint fumes, minimal disruption.
  • Huge choice: solid mattes, gloss, wood grains, stone and metallic looks.
  • Easy to clean: wipe with mild soap and water.
  • Renter and landlord friendly: a reversible upgrade when done by a pro.

What we can wrap

Shaker, slab and most raised-panel doors, drawer fronts, end panels, kickboards, cabinet frames, open shelving, pantry doors, bathroom vanities and laundry cabinets. We assess every door before quoting. Surfaces must be sound and smooth: we repair chips and dents, and peeling thermofoil has to come off before we wrap.

How we wrap kitchen cabinets

  1. Prep: doors removed and labeled, hardware off, every surface degreased and scuffed.
  2. Repair: dents and chips filled and sanded flush.
  3. Prime: edges and corners primed for maximum adhesion.
  4. Wrap: film applied by hand, then post-heated so edges stay put.
  5. Refit: doors rehung and aligned, hardware fitted, final inspection.

FAQ

Cabinet Wrapping FAQs

How long does a cabinet vinyl wrap last?

Professional-grade architectural films are made for interiors and, installed properly and cared for, commonly last many years. Lifespan depends on the film, the surface underneath and how heavily the kitchen is used. We will recommend a film suited to your kitchen.

Can you wrap damaged or peeling cabinets?

Small chips and dents can be filled and sanded before wrapping. Vinyl needs a sound, smooth surface, so peeling thermofoil, water-swollen particleboard or loose veneer must be removed or repaired first. We will tell you honestly if a door is not a good candidate.

How do I clean a wrapped kitchen?

Use a soft cloth with warm water and a mild dish soap. Avoid abrasive pads, scouring powders and harsh solvents such as acetone.

How long does it take to wrap a kitchen?

Most kitchens are completed in 1 to 3 days, depending on the number of doors, the finish chosen and any repairs needed. Your kitchen stays usable for most of the job.
